NFRA Rules
1. INTENT
The goals of the NFRA are to promote 4-cycle Sprint Kart racing in Northern California and to create an atmosphere of safe, friendly competition.
2. GENERAL RULES GUIDELINES
2.1. Participation is entirely voluntary.
3. RACE PROCEDURES, GENERAL KART, DRIVER SAFETY
3.1. The host track will select the race format.
3.2. Pre-race safety inspection will be per the host track requirements and procedures.
3.3. All NFRA classes will race together, subject to maximum number of karts permitted.
3.4. Starting positions will be independent of class and based on the system used by the host track (e.g. pea pick, qualifying time, heat finish order, etc.)
4. POINTS
4.1. Awarding of NFRA Championship Points
4.1.1. Points will be awarded by Class according to the overall finishing order listed below:
4.1.1.1. Karts finishing the Feature/Main.
4.1.1.2. Did Not Finish (DNF) the Feature/Main.
4.1.1.3. Karts that took a green flag at any time during the event.
4.1.1.4. Karts Disqualified (DQ’d) in Post Tech. If multiple karts are DQ’d they will be ranked equally.
4.1.2. Points will not be awarded for the following:
4.1.2.1. Karts that did not take a green flag at any time during the event.
4.1.2.2. Karts DQ’d for driver misconduct.

5. PROTEST
5.1. These protest procedures apply only to NFRA Championship Classes. Protests for a series outside of the NFRA (e.g. Crossover, Gold Rush) shall be made according to the procedures of the series organizer.
5.2. Protests for technical violations must be made by an entrant in the same class within 30 minutes of the infraction.
5.3. Protests for scoring shall be submitted on the bulletin board within three days of the points being posted.
6. CLASS STRUCTURE
6.1. Championship Classes
6.1.1. F200 Heavy – 365 lbs
6.1.2. Briggs WF Light – 340 lbs
6.2. Non Championship Classes
6.2.1. Any single cylinder 4-cycle. Max displacement 210cc.

7.1.1. Per Burris National Speedway Series (BNSS) 2008, section 4.50.
7.2. Engine Tech Inspection, Rules
7.2.1. General and Tech per BNSS 2008, Section 8.
7.2.2. Engine specifications per BNS 2008, section 9.
7.2.2.1. In addition to the modifications provided in Section 9.9 of BNSS 2008, the crankshaft may be modified in order to balance the assembly. The sole intent is to allow racers to balance the assembly and possibly increase longevity of the motor. If, in the opinion of the Technical Inspector, the modification goes beyond balancing by possibly providing tangential benefits (e.g. reduced windage) the motor will be declared illegal.

8.1. Tires
8.1.1. Per IKF 2008, 200.1 or Burris National Speedway Series (BNSS) 2008, section 4.50.

8.2.1. Per IKF 2009 for Briggs World Formula.
